Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me . . . —Matthew 11:29
I'm posting this picture I took over Summer'10 of the UGA Arches, because the Arches are associated with the Univeristy of Georgia & higher education. What greater education could I have hoped to have achieved in this city and as a student, than as the pupil God has chosen me to be. All of my greatest loves, passions, and joys stem from his roots in me. Everything I will take from my experience as a student at UGA has been given to me from my Heavenly Father. I am eternally grateful.
Highlights from today:
-Went to my FIRST Rodeo in Athens,GA.
-Great day with the kiddos and fieldtrip world. We survived and had fun :)
-Thankful for the professional and personal relationships I have made from the teaching settings I am in and have been in.
-Opted to ride my bike ("Athena") to seminar on such a beautiful day in Athens and it's been SO worth it.
-I love to ride "Athena". I am so thankful to have the bike, good health, a willingness from deep inside to tackle "Holy Hills" of the Classic City and pedal through the burn in my legs, and appreciate the fresh air more and more and more with each stride.
-Encouragement at seminar and in the career center.
-Submitting my paperwork for my certification cards.
-DREAMING BIG!
-Picking up my graduation tickets for guests.
-Saving money today by not parking on campus...and riding to TwoStory FIVE POINTS for a smoothie on a spontaneous ride to sit on the porch.
-Chatting with Marg Kelley about picking a major, changing your mind a lot, believing in God's timing, and enjoying time RIGHT NOW.
-Feeling...joyful :)
I am humbled and in awe of how gorgeous the days this week have been. Each day the trees seem greeener and greener. I love being outside! I honestly could just sit and stare at the sky, grass, flowers, trees....all of it... for hours. It's refreshing.
Acts 3:19-21 (New International Version, ©2011)
19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, 20 and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. 21 Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
THIS VERSE woke me up in a big way today. Just now even. The earth looks brand new, refreshed, and glorious. Hard rains have washed it clean, cold nights have been warmed, and what was dead is coming/springing to life again. He makes all things work together and He makes all things new.
God knows what the earth needs and he gives it. God knows what makes green color return to plants, what makes plants grow, and what makes weather warmer. God knows what the earth needs. God knows when it needs rain and when it needs sunlight. God knows everything.
God knows everything we need. He knows what we need and He knows what we want. He gives what we need, always. He knows when we need to repent, He waits, and He gives freedom, grace, and love everytime. He knows who we should be, how we should live, what we should do, and where we should go. He knows everything about us. He loves us. He takes us just as we are, and by the grace of God he does not leave us that way. That's such a great statement of faith.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come( II Corinthians 5:17)!"
Such an appropriate time (in our 5th week of Lent on the Christian calendar) for this to be happening. Just as the earth is brand new, we are new creations too. Why? Because Jesus lived for us, died for us, and rose again for us. He is King. Amen.
Worth a read!
