Oktoberfest: Dublin Style!

Saturday September 28, 2013 was the big Oktoberfest celebration in town. D and I met some friends for steins (1 litre drinking glasses) of Erdinger beer, traditional German music, German grub, and a fun night out on the last weekend of September.

I'll be honest and say while I was interested to try the beer, I was more excited about the food. Tasting Currywurst, Baked Pretzels, Bratwursts, the special MUSTARD..... I'll stop before I make myself and all of you starved. For any readers in or visiting Atlanta, I highly recommend the Brick Store Pub in Decatur, GA. They serve up some authentic foods and great atmosphere. I also encourage everyone to make their way over to Dublin while this event lasts another weekend. I hope to make it to Germany myself one year for the next best venue.

Although the ques to get in were well around the canal, I'm glad we endured it. The energy and excitement inside were contagious. Edringer Beer was possibly the best wheat beer I have ever tasted, but I still enjoy the Belgian-ish wheat beer called FU MANBREW by Monday Night Brewing Co. And of course my top choice is still the King of stout brews, Guiness.

Oktoberfest Dublin was fun, tasty, and a good night out. I'm glad that made the memory list for 'When living in Dublin....' :D Here's to a great Fall, YA'LL!
